SORE LAB (SOund RE;search LAB)

An experimental trio dedicated to rediscovering instrumental timbres and translating them into music through rigorous inquiry.

SORE LAB is an acronym for SOund RE;search LAB, representing a three-fold artistic mission: exploring the unique 'SOund' of each instrument, the persistent 'RE;search' to create something new, and the ensemble 'LAB' that triggers creative chemical reactions.

Since 2023, the trio has engaged in deep sonic research through a continuous cycle of rehearsals and live performances, focusing on improvising everyday phenomena through unique playing techniques. Their collective efforts culminated in the 2024 release of the album SOund RE;search LAB. The project has been widely recognised for its artistic value, being featured in the February 2025 issue of Jazz People and recording an exclusive live session at CJ Azit.
